US-Ireland International Workshop on Next Generation Open Architectures for Software-defined Radio
Thanks to the support of the US National Science Foundation, Science Foundation Ireland, and the Centre for Telecommunications Value-Chain Research, the First Collaborative International Software-defined Radio Workshop will be held at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth on May 12-13, 2008, immediately followed by in-depth focus group meetings May 14-16, 2008.
The objective of this workshop is to bring together hardware, software, and communication system engineers from academia, industry, and government to advance multi-disciplinary collaborative research and development, across all facets (physical layer, software, framework, algorithm, and education) of software defined radios (SDR).
Our efforts will be focused on identifying the key elements required to bring SDR architectures into next generation and promoting collaborative international relationships to implement them. Diversity in perspectives will ensure that the resulting contributions are relevant to academic, governmental, and commercial applications.
We would like to extend an invitation to all members of the SDR community to join us in Maynooth, Ireland. If you are interested in participating in the workshop and/or focus group meetings, please register your interest in attending the workshop. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.
